About Whit Kern

Whit Kern is a Richmond native and a graduate of Trinity Episcopal School and the Virginia Military Institute where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business. Following graduation, Whit started his career in real estate and entrepreneurship. Backed by years of experience, Whit has a vast knowledge of real estate development, having built numerous new construction homes and renovated several fix and flip properties in various markets in Virginia.

Whit is predominantly a hard money lender for his family's business, Richmond Rehab Funding. Richmond Rehab Funding are asset-based lenders that service Virginia and a few additional states. Having lent and closed on over 1,000 deals, Whit is an expert in financing real estate investor’s fix and flip deals, new construction projects, buy and hold rentals, BRRRR properties, adaptive reuse projects, land development, bridge loans, and mezzanine financing.

Whit lives in the Near West End with his wife, Charlotte, and French Bulldog, Teddy. In his free time, Whit enjoys hunting, fishing, playing soccer, and spending time with family.
